For a humble country girl, God used her to inspire hundreds of lives. “There is a time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance,” the Bible tells us. On July 13, 2024 we will bury Dorretta’s body next to her husband, and the following day we will celebrate her life at First Baptist Church in Salem, Oregon. We will mourn the loss of a significant presence and the light of her love and counsel. And we will laugh and dance as we remember and celebrate her legacy.

Perhaps I got very philosophical over a simple meme. But there is a lot we can learn from changes and differences happening around us. Sometimes it’s up to us to learn and adapt so more people know God and advance missions.

What being in being 7different churches over 7 Sundays has taught me

In the beginning I took a mission's trip to Mexico.

 Knowing God is our ultimate purpose, and all the rest are byproducts of that knowledge. More on that in Part 3.

We have a new team member! Paola is our latest addition to our team. She was a summer intern last summer and she applied to be a full-time missionary with TIME. Paola and Kike got married in January and she moved to Monterrey.

I was challenged recently to make sure as I read God’s word, to look for what it says about Him, more than what it says about me and what I should do.

The leadership in our mission decided that it was time to take it up a notch. After three years of domestic short-term trips, they decided to go international. I was invited to go on this new experience as well. First international mission trip with Mexican students.

There we were at the base of Mt Elbert. At 14,440 ft, it’s the highest summit in the Rocky Mountains, the highest point in Colorado and the second-highest summit in the contiguous United States. My group of Jr and Sr Highers were on a mission’s trip in Colorado, helping a local church reach out to their community with the Good News.

The sun glowed above the horizon; the road was damp with remnants of rain from earlier in the morning. As people began to move toward the starting line, the anticipation of the last four weeks of training filled every muscle in my body.

Prayer is the most influence we can have on Earth and in Heaven on the day to day and eternal operations of God.

If we love Jesus, then we are going to love people. Love them with our words, love them with our time, love them by helping them, love them while worshipping together. We had done all of this, and that had affected change. Change in our hearts, in our minds. We had stood next to other Jesus followers, we did not always understand each other, but we were loving each other by just showing up.

The rest of the day I spent in fear, waiting for the discipline that was going to come down from Dad.

A lifestyle of worship, fasting and prayer invigorates, stimulates us to be mobile, articulate, alert, spiritually sharp and unselfish.

As followers of Jesus there are some things we are commanded to do. In my case I am commanded to communicate the options that are understood in The Great Commission to give and or go.

Under this new Kingdom constitution. A close look at Matthew 5 tells that: Happy are the poor in spirit, happy are those who mourn, happy are the meek, happy are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, happy are the merciful, happy are the pure in heart, happy are the peacemakers, happy are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, happy are those who suffer reproach and persecution. When we join the Kingdom of the heavens and serve this unprecedented King. We can expect the unexpected, rejoice in the unparalleled goodness of God, take heart in the unmatched mercies of God and receive the unrivaled love of God. ‍

This sounds crazy, sounds like lunacy at its best.

Just imagine what God has done over the past 2 year with less and now imagine what he could do with more. 

Here we have a great story. Mordecai being an ally to Esther and the Jewish people.

Their lives are just transformed altogether. And of course, it's a Christ-centered school, so they're hearing the truth about God and the Scriptures and their worth. So on and on goes the pattern. It's just a beautiful opportunity,"

The Cambridge dictionary defines a light as a piece of equipment that produces light, such as a lamp or a bulb. This is where we ask deep in our souls as to what is the light that is producing the energy and passion within us. For TIME Ministries, the passion to share the gospel to those in need and to share Christ with them is the “light-spark” that shines out from us.

We reach for new empathies, better content for us to filter into the context that teaches a better understanding. We think that this better and more insightful content leads us to the tunnels of deep thinking.

Things are going great, and they're only getting better.

Follow Jesus, wherever He leads

There are only 2 types of people in the world; the lost and the found.

God’s purpose can be summed up by the Latin phrase missio Dei, the mission of God.

 The Rest removes old patterns that do not work and replaces them with peace and rest.

The day I realized that none of the Bible was about me is when I understood the promise, we read about in the Bible.
